Fatal Traffic Collision in West Los Angeles NR11267lpk

Los Angeles: On Thursday, June 9, 2011, at 8:15 p.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred at Robertson Boulevard just north of Airdrome Street.  Jelani Frederick Bronson, a 29-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger southbound on Robertson Boulevard when he struck pedestrian Rosalba Garcia, a 20-year-old resident of Los Angeles, who was running eastbound on Robertson Boulevard.

Garcia suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

An investigation is on-going; however, alcohol, drugs, and mechanical failure does not appear to be factors in the cause of this incident.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact West Traffic Division Officer Heredia at 213-473-2034. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.”  Tipsters may also go to, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
