West Traffic Crime Alert : Hit and Run Traffic Collision Aug. 19, 2005
 
 

On August 19, 2005 at approximately 2:35 A.M. a severe injury hit and run traffic collision occurred on Sunset Boulevard just west of Western Avenue. Mark Servati, a 42 year-old resident of Los Angeles, was attempting to cross Sunset Boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound Sunset Boulevard. According to a witness, he heard what sounded like an impact and observed a vehicle driving eastbound Sunset Boulevard, then turn southbound on Western Avenue. The witness then observed Servati lying in the roadway. Servati sustained major head trauma and was treated at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedic's. He was transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center where he was admitted in critical condition. On August 29, 2005, Servati succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The hit and run vehicle was described as a 1990's Toyota Tercel, light green in color. The driver was described as a male, black, 30-35 years of age.
