Man stabbed to death in Canoga Park

 

Los Angeles: On December 11, 2004, at about 12:30 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department, West Valley officers responded to an Assault with a Deadly Weapon call in the 21100 block of Sherman Way .

Officers were met by a witness who directed them to a male Hispanic lying in the parking lot bleeding from a stab wound. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead.

The victim was identified as 31 year-old Carlos Alberto Plascencia. The witness stated that she and the victim were walking together when they were confronted by 29 year-old Jose Tame Monasterio, an acquaintance of hers. Plascencia and Monasterio were arguing when Montasterio stabbed Plascencia in the chest.

The weapon was recovered at the scene.

The suspect, Jose Tame Monasterio is described as a 29 year-old, male Hispanic, light brown hair, brown eyes, thin mustache, 5’6”, 140 pounds, resident of Canoga Park.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Monasterio is asked to call West Valley Homicide Unit, at 818-342-0449. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk, at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
