Attendees to the open function will be encouraged to explore the community station and jail, experience being in the command seat of a police helicopter, patrol car, and motorcycle, and meet members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s SWAT, K-9 and Mounted Horse Unit.
The West Valley Community Station is encouraging community families to attend and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Off-road vehicles and an LAPD funny car dragster will also be at the event for viewing. Special LAPD units, such as the Los Angeles Police Department’s Bomb Squad, will have a display available and all activities are free to the public.
In addition, members of the Los Angeles Police Department Recruitment Unit will be on hand to provide information on LAPD career opportunities, including LAPD reserve program and the renowned Explorer program.
