Police, Fire, and Hospital Conduct Emergency Exercise

Los Angeles Police Department, West Valley Area, along with the Los Angeles Fire Department and Northridge Hospital Medical Center, will be conducting a joint exercise on November 9, 1999, at 11:00 A.M. The inter-agency field exercise will feature the response, evacuation plans, and Command Post functions at an emergency incident at a major medical center.

Personnel from Los Angeles Police Department’s Emergency Operations Section will facilitate this Command Post exercise involving West Valley Area officers, members of the Los Angeles Fire Department, and Northridge Hospital personnel. The exercise scenario will allow each agency an opportunity to practice command, control, and coordinating functions in bringing a resolution to a possible major occurrence.

This is another example of various agencies within the city working together to keep the community safe and lines of communication open.

The media is welcome to observe the joint field exercise to better understand the role of each agency and their plans in the event of a real occurrence.
