Captain Eric T. Davis joined the Los Angeles Police Department on September 8, 1981, and was promoted to Patrol Captain of Northeast Division in 2006. Captain Davis is currently assigned to Wilshire Division. He was born and reared in San Francisco, CA.
During the course of his 25-year career with the Department, he has lead and mentored many people – both sworn and civilian – in order to ensure the best quality of service for the citizens of Los Angeles.
Captain Davis' diverse experiences have included patrol assignments within all four Operation's Bureaus – as well as highly specialized details. As Lieutenant II, he was Officer-In-Charge of the Wilshire Area Gang Impact Team. His other assignments included: Narcotics Division; Transit Rail; LAX; Vice; Watch Commander of numerous Divisions; as well as his experience as an Instructor at the Academy's Training Division.
Eric has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in the field of Criminal Justice. He has also attended the POST Supervisory Leadership Institute as well as the West Point Leadership Program. Captain Davis is also a proud two-time recipient of the Department's Police Meritorious Unit Citation.
As an active resident of Los Angeles, Captain Davis fully embraces the principles of community-based policing within the City he now calls home. He is dedicated to the development and success of effective revitalizing strategies within his community, and works diligently to achieve positive results through valuable partnerships that are devoted to the safety and well being of its businesses, residents, and visitors.
Professionally, Captain Davis is also a member of the Oscar Joel Bryant, and LALEY Associations.
