2007 Wilshire Station Community Policing Goals
In partnership with business and residential community members, the men and women of the Wilshire Community Police Station have developed our 2007 Community Policing Goals. These goals are the responsibility of the community and the Police Department to enhance public safety and homeland security. Community members are urged to work with Wilshire Station personnel to achieve our fifth consecutive year of Part I Crime reduction.
•Goal Number 1:
Reduce 2007 Part I Property and Violent Crime from 2006 Part I Crime by 5%, Reducing the Fear and Incidence of Crime in All Wilshire Neighborhoods
•Goal Number 2:
Reducing the Incidence of Gang Crime by Implementing 2007 Gang Enforcement Initiatives, Arresting Drug Users and Dealers, Removing Illegal Firearms and Weapons from Criminals and Reducing Shots Fired Crimes and Shooting Victims
•Goal Number 3:
Reduce 2007 Traffic Collisions by 5% from 2006 Traffic Collisions
•Goal Number 4:
Enhance Community Policing Partnerships and Establish Police Officer Liaisons through Our Business and Neighborhood Watch Programs, Further Utilizing Wilshire Station's Hispanic Liaison Officer and Korean Liaison Officer
•Goal Number 5:
Collaborate with Community Leaders and City Councilmembers from the First, Fourth, Fifth and Tenth Districts to Support Gang Intervention and Prevention Programs, Supporting Wilshire's Cadet
Post and Deputy Auxiliary Program
•Goal Number 6:
Promote the Department's E-Policing Program through the Recruitment of Community Members, Enhancing the Community's Awareness of Crime Trends via the Internet
•Goal Number 7:
Enhance Wilshire Detective Division's Business Watch Program and Activities
•Goal Number 8:
Recruit One Community Member to Represent Each of Wilshire's 73 Reporting Districts as a Community-Police Advisory Board Member
•Goal Number 9:
Conduct Briefings by the Area Commanding Officer with Print, Radio and Television Representatives Who Communicate with Wilshire's Business and Residential Community

Ensure Effective Communication with Wilshire's Diverse Clergy, Community Educational and Media Organizations Wilshire's 73 Reporting Districts as a Community-Police Advisory Board Member
