“Dangerous Kidnap/Rape Suspect Sought”


Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance for information in locating 34 year-old Kevin Hayes. He is described as a male Black with black hair, brown eyes, 5’8”, 190 pounds. His last known address was in the 2000 block of Sycamore Avenue in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has issued a felony warrant for Hayes, charging him as the suspect in a kidnap and rape, that occurred in the Wilshire Area.

On October 23, 2004, at about 5:45 a.m., Hayes drove up to the victim at the bus stop at Pico Boulevard and Redondo Boulevard and offered her a ride. The victim refused. Hayes demanded the victim to get into his car and reached under his seat. The victim, fearing the suspect would pull out a gun, got into the car. Hayes drove the victim to an alley and sexually assaulted her. When Hayes dropped off the victim, she wrote down the license plate number of his car. Hayes’ car was located and is in police custody.

Hayes should not be approached by the public as he is considered “Armed and Dangerous.”
