Robbery Suspect Caught on Surveillance Video

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Wilshire Area Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on August 30, 2003, at 10:30 a.m., at the America Cash Advance Center, 5954 ½ West Pico Boulevard.
The suspect, posing as a customer talking on a cell phone, was buzzed into the business. He pointed a stainless steel handgun at one of the employees and demanded money. He was given the money from the cash register, then demanded that the safe be opened. The employees complied. The suspect then made the two employees lie on the floor, after taking their purse and wallet. The suspect took additional cash from the safe and fled the location on foot.
The suspect is described as a male Black, about 6 foot tall, 180 lbs., 25-30 years of age, wearing a brown patterned shirt, tan pants, and black leather boots.
The robbery was captured on the business’ surveillance video. The surveillance video of the robbery is available to the media upon request at the Media Relations Section.
