"Shooting Occurs Following Argument"
 

Los Angeles: Wilshire Area Homicide Detectives, are investigating the shooting death of Highland Park resident, Carlos Martinez, a 25-year-old male Hispanic, which occurred on Tuesday night, November 19, 2002.

 

Uniformed officers from Wilshire Division responded to a shooting call located at Wilshire Boulevard and Sycamore Avenue. The victim was transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
 
The victim and a friend were driving east on Wilshire Boulevard when the suspects drove next to them. Witnesses stated that the suspect(s) verbally taunted the victim and his passenger. The passenger in the suspect’s vehicle produced a handgun and shot the victim, who was driving. The suspect (s) fled eastbound.
 
The suspect(s) are described as two male Blacks. The vehicle driven is described as a newer model "C" class Mercedes, 4-door, black or dark blue with tinted windows and low profile type tires. No further information was given.
