Detectives Investigate a Non-Injury Shooting

On August 18, 1999 at approximately 3:15 am, Victim Lenton Hutton and Witnesses, Chris Webber, Korey Deriso and Rica Hales were seated in Mr. Hutton’s vehicle in the parking lot of the Fatburger Restaurant at La Cienega Street and San Vicente Boulevard. Suddenly a lone gunman approached Victim Hutton’s side of the vehicle and fired (2) rounds at him. Both rounds were deflected by the bulletproof glass of the Victim’s vehicle. The Suspect was described as a Male, African-American, 25-35 years of age, wearing a fisherman hat and glasses, who fled the location in a possible dark blue 1999 Chevy 2-door vehicle.

Subsequent to the shooting Victim Hutton was arrested on weapon charges when a loaded assault rifle, 9mm handgun and a shotgun were found in his vehicle along with a bulletproof vest. Mr. Hutton was booked at Hollywood Jail.

No suspects are in custody and no one was injured. This investigation is being handled by the detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Division.
