Bio

Captain Nicole Aufdemberg grew up with her two younger brothers in the City of Los Angeles where she attended Notre Dame Academy Highschool in the West Los Angeles Area. She continued her education at Santa Monica College, Loyola Marymount University, and then later, earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice while also serving the Los Angeles community.

Nicole’s service with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) began September 2, 1997, as a recruit in the Los Angeles Police Academy. She then successfully completed her probationary period at Wilshire Division and continued her career as a Police Officer II with tours at Southwest Division and WLA Division where she earned the position of Field Training Officer.

In 2008, Nicole was promoted to the rank of Sergeant at Southeast Division where she worked a variety of assignments from patrol to crime analysis, as well as the Area Adjutant position.

In 2014 she was asked to work at the Office of Operations and then in 2015 she was offered a position in the Chief of Staff Office as the Department’s Commission Liaison.

In 2017 Nicole was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to Harbor Division. She then earned the rank of Lieutenant II as the adjutant for the Commanding Officer of Transit Services Bureau. From there she became the adjutant the Chief of Staff where she continued her education ultimately earning her degree while assigned as the adjutant for the Director of the Office of Support Services.

In 2022 Nicole Aufdemberg was promoted to Captain and assigned to Harbor Division where she enjoyed re-engaging with personnel and the community. Later in October 2022, she became the Assistant Commanding Officer of Training Division, helping to oversee the Los Angeles Police Academy and in-service training. Captain Aufdemberg was promoted to the rank of Captain II in February of 2023, where she currently remains in Training Division.

Nicole has been married to an LAPD Motor Sergeant for over 19 years and is the proud stepmother to three sons, one of which just completed his tour with the Air Force.
