Timothy Nordquist


Commander Nordquist began his career in public service in 1990 as a Firefighter/EMT with the Maplewood Fire Department (Minnesota). In 1994, he transitioned into Law Enforcement when he became a police officer. He worked first for the Circle Pines Police Department (Minnesota) and then the Dearborn Police Department (Michigan). In 1999, he fulfilled his long time aspiration of joining the LAPD.

He has worked a variety of patrol and investigative assignments in Hollenbeck, 77th Street, Central, Newton, Internal Affairs, the Office of Support Services, Harbor, Olympic, Special Operations Division, and Wilshire Area holding the ranks of Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain.

He holds a BA from North Central University (Minnesota) as well as an MS in Emergency Services Administration from California State University Long Beach.
