Victim Robbed Inside Police Station

On Friday, December 3, 1999, at approximately 7:30 PM, an armed robbery occurred in the front lobby of 77th Police Station.

The victim, a 20-year-old male, was at the ATM attempting to withdraw money. He observed the suspect kneeling on the floor behind him holding a knife and waving it toward him while he said something to him. The victim feared the suspect was going to stab him and ran past the suspect to the front desk which was approximately 30 feet away.

Officers Rudy Chavez and James Huett responded to the ATM and observed the suspect taking money from the dispenser. The knife was on the shelf of the ATM. The officers detained the suspect and discovered he was in possession of the victim’s ATM card. They also verified that the suspect had withdrawn forty dollars from the victim’s account. The suspect was arrested and booked for 211 P.C., Armed Robbery.

Suspect: Willie Myles, male Black, 44 years old, a resident of Los Angeles, $35,000.00 Bail
