December 23, 1999

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Thursday, December 23, 1999
On Thursday, December 23, 1999, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Rampart Community Police Station is hosting its 9th annual "Christmas Basket" giveaway at the Rampart Community Police Station, located 2710 West Temple Street, to benefit the needy families in the Rampart community. Each basket contains food and a toy for every child in the family.

Nine years ago Rampart Area officers saw the need to give some assistance and bring some smiles to local families who would not otherwise enjoy the holidays like most of us. This tradition has carried on for nine years now. For the past three months Rampart officers began collecting and buying gifts for local families.

Throughout the year, Rampart officers have identified needy families in the community and added their names to our ever-growing list of gift basket recipients. This year, thanks to generous donations from numerous corporations, organizations, community members, and police officers, we will be able to give baskets to over three hundred needy families with a little Holiday cheer.

For further information please contact Sergeant Perez, Rampart Area at 213-485-4060.
