Early Morning Shooting Leaves One Dead

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call of shots fired in the area of Sunset Boulevard and Hobart Avenue. On arrival, the officers discovered that a shooting had occurred. The victim had been driven away from the location by a friend, who flagged down other officers a short distance away. Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment for a gunshot wound. The victim subsequently expired on Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at approximately 7:35 p.m.
No suspects have been identified and no motive has been established at this time.
The victim has been identified as Armen Ordakyan, 18-years of age, a resident of Los Angeles.
