"Press Conference on Hollywood Homicide"

Los Angeles – On Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at 9:00 A.M., Councilman Mike Feuer and Homicide Detectives from Hollywood Area Community Police Station will hold a press conference at Parker Center, 150 North Los Angeles Street to offer a $25,000 reward on information leading to arrest of homicide suspects.

On April 9, 2000, Benjamin Cuevas Rodriguez, and a female companion were parked in Hollywood when two suspects approached and asked for a ride, claiming the woman was sick. Rodriguez and his companion agreed to give them a ride and drove them to the 900 block of Martel Avenue. The male passenger, a male Hispanic 5’6" tall, 250 pounds, and 25-30 years old, produced a gun and demanded Rodriguez’ wallet. Rodriguez attempted to flee the situation, but was shot in the back and murdered as he ran from his car.

Hollywood Detectives will provide a composite drawing of the suspect during the press conference for use by the media to inform the public.

At the conclusion of the press conference, interviews will be available with all the involved personnel.
