UPDATE

Sun Valley: Detectives from
the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division are
seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects
responsible for the Hit and Run traffic collision that killed a
58-year-old resident of Glendale.

On February 6, 2021, around 9:05 a.m., a Chevrolet Silverado pickup
truck was travelling north on Coldwater Canyon Boulevard when it
ran a red light at Roscoe Boulevard. The Silverado truck collided
with the driver’s side of an older model Morris Minor, driving west
on Roscoe Boulevard. The driver of the Silverado abandoned the
truck at the scene of the collision and was picked up by a second
vehicle, a 2-door silver Hyundai Tiburon, which was following
behind the Silverado prior to the collision. The driver of the
Tiburon and the driver of the Silverado fled without identifying
themselves or attempting to render aid to the victim. The Tiburon
was located abandoned in the vicinity.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and
pronounced the victim in the Morris Minor dead at scene. His name
has not been released pending notification to next of kin.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision,
they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so,
notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify
themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles
Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust
Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members
who provide information leading to the offender’s identification,
apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil
compromise.
