On August 4, 2002 at approximately 6:40 A.M., Javier Diaz was driving his 1987 Nissan Maxima southbound on Rampart Boulevard when he ran off the roadway and collided with a street sign. Diaz was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant and released on his own recognizance. Central Traffic Detectives investigating the case determined that Diaz was a habitual driving under the influence offender. Diaz failed to show up for court in 2002 and all attempts to serve an arrest warrant have failed. Diaz continues to evade arrest but is believed to be living in the City of Los Angeles, and may be moving between relative’s residences to avoid arrest.
