A Fake-Bearded Suspect Robbed Three Drug Stores NR121159rh

UPDATE

On April 9, 2012, around 3:15 p.m., a suspect entered an auto parts store in the 6100 block of Pico Boulevard. The suspect presented a note indicating it was a robbery and he wanted money, after taking the money he left on foot.On April 10, 2012, a suspect was arrested for a robbery in West Los Angeles. He was identified as 28-year-old Maurice Davis of Los Angeles. Based on the detectives investigation it was determined Davis is the same suspect who committed the series of robberies in different parts of the city. On April 12, 2012, the robberies committed in the Wilshire Area, along with other robberies in other areas of the LAPD, and in Culver City were presented to the District Attorney.  The District Attorney’s Office filed 11 counts of robbery against Davis.

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Division Robbery detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect who robbed three drug stores days apart in the Mid-City Area.

On March 21, 2012, around 4:30 p.m., a suspect entered a drug store in the 5500 block of Wilshire Boulevard.  The suspect presented a note indicating he had a gun and demanded he be taken to the store safe.  The employee opened the safe and the suspect took the money and left the drug store.

Two days later, around 3:50 p.m., the same suspect entered another drug store in the 5800 block of West Pico Boulevard and presented the same note.  However, this time he lifted the front of his shirt, brandished a handgun in his waistband area and ordered the store employee to open the safe.  The employee opened the safe and the suspect took the money and left the drug store.  In this robbery, the employee noticed the suspect had on a fake beard to disguise himself.

Five days later, on March 28, 2012, around 1:05 p.m., the same suspect entered another drug store in the 5400 block of Wilshire Boulevard and presented the same note.  The suspect brandished a handgun in his waistband and threatened to shoot the employee if he did not open the safe.   The employee opened the safe and the suspect took the money and left the drug store.

The suspect is described as a male Black, black hair, 25-30 years-old, stands between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs around 180 pounds.  He was seen wearing a white sweatshirt, white pants and a black/white beanie.  He was also seen wearing a black sweater, black pants and a black beanie.
