West Los Angeles: Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision that left a man dead.

On August 29, 2019, around 5:50 a.m., a dark blue 2015 Infiniti Q70L was traveling westbound on Pico Boulevard at a high rate of speed. A second vehicle, described as a grey SUV, was also traveling westbound Pico Boulevard at a high rate of speed. The Infiniti lost control and ran off the road, colliding with a building at the northwest corner of Pico Boulevard and Crest Drive. The driver of the grey SUV did not stop, render aid, and identify him/herself as required by law. The case is under investigation, and it has not been determined if the collision was related to street racing or a road rage incident.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the driver of the Infiniti dead at scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

The driver of the Infiniti has not been identified. Next of kin will be notified pending the investigation of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should stop, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
