Los Angeles: On April 28, 2022, around 10:20 p.m., a driver of a Kia Soul, travelled east on Palms Boulevard and Vinton Avenue when it collided with a male pedestrian, who was crossing the street.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and provided immediate medical attention to the victim. Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries while at scene and was pronounced dead. The pedestrian has been identified and notification to next of kin was completed.
The driver of the Kia Soul remained at scene and cooperated with the investigation.
It is unknown if speed was a factor in this collision. Alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. The public is also reminded that as pedestrians, they should exercise caution when crossing streets, obey traffic lights, cross within marked crosswalks, and obey the rules of the road.
