Los Angeles Police Commission’s Proposal For Officers’ Flexible Work Schedule Approved by City Counc

Los Angeles – Today, Friday, November 9, 2001, the Los Angeles City Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding which will implement the Police Commission’s decision to initiate the flexible work schedule at the Los Angeles Police Department. The new schedule will begin at the Central and Hollywood stations on November 18, 2001, and will then spread throughout the Department.
Police Commission President Rick J. Caruso stated, "We are optimistic that the flexible work schedule will aid the Department’s ability to recruit officers along with retaining the excellent men and women we have. A projected larger Department and increased morale will ensure that public safety will be enhanced."
