Man Killed and 8-Year-Old Girl Injured in Shooting NR21155wc

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s South Bureau Homicide detectives are requesting the public’s help in identifying homicide suspects.

On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, around 8:00 p.m., Marcelis Gude, 22, was standing on the sidewalk in the 200 block of East 102nd Street. A light color four door sedan travelled westbound on 102nd Street and stopped near Gude. Armed suspects exited the vehicle and fired multiple rounds in Gude’s direction. Gude and an eight-year-old girl were struck by the gunfire. The suspects re-entered the awaiting vehicle and fled westbound on 102nd Street.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported both Gude and the injured child to local hospitals. Gude succumbed to his injuries and the child was treated for her injuries and is in stable condition.

The suspects and weapon(s) are not in custody and the motive is unknown at this time.
