"Sobriety Checkpoint Notification"
 

Hollywood – On Friday, May 25, 2001, The West Traffic Division of the Los Angeles Police Department will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Santa Monica Boulevard at Bronson Avenue. The checkpoint will be operating between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. The purpose of this operation is to reduce the amount of traffic collisions involving intoxicated drivers through enforcement and public awareness. The Commanding Officer of West Traffic Division, Captain Stephen R. Jacobs, stated "The sobriety checkpoints are valuable because they educate the public about this significant issue."
