North Hollywood Shooting

Los Angeles: On October 9, 2004, at about 9:00 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department officers from the North Hollywood Division responded to an "Assault with a Deadly Weapon-Shots Fired" radio call in the 6800 block of Laurel Grove Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers observed a 30 year-old victim, Arsen Aivazian, with an apparent single gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to a nearby hospital and later died.
Further investigation revealed the victim had been involved in an altercation with a suspect near Victory Boulevard and Woodman Avenue. The dispute then resumed in the 6800 block of Laurel Grove Avenue, where the suspect shot the victim with a small chrome handgun. The suspect then drove away in a 1997-1999 dark colored mid-size vehicle.
The suspect is described as a male Armenian with short dark hair. He is 29-30 years old, 5’10"-6’0", and weighs about 200 pounds.
