Los Angeles: On Tuesday, April 30, 2002, North Hollywood Detectives arrested North Hollywood resident Daniel Victor Rivas, age 46, on a felony warrant for sexual penetration with a foreign object on a victim under age eighteen.
The district attorney has filed charges against Rivas for (2) counts of sexual penetration with a foreign object with victim under eighteen years of age, (2) counts of sexual battery, and (3) counts of tattooing a person under eighteen years of age.
North Hollywood Detectives are investigating allegations that Rivas was known to tattoo juveniles without checking their ID at his tattoo shop, "Dr John’s tattoos", located at 6636 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood. Rivas is alleged to have sexually assaulted two female juveniles, each age 16, while they received their tattoos. The first assault occurred in May 2000. The second assault occurred in March 2002.
The victims in these assaults were apprehensive about reporting the assaults since they were under eighteen years of age and did not have their parent’s permission to get tattoos. North Hollywood Detectives encourage any additional victims to contact North Hollywood Detectives at 818-623-4065. Victim’s reports will be confidential. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk, 1-877-LAWFUL (1-877-529-3855).
Photo of suspect will be available at the Press Conference.
