Man Struck, Staggers into Street, Hit by a Car NR16396im

North Hollywood: On December 15, 2016, at 1:44 a.m., a hit and run traffic collision occurred on the 6600 block of Lankershim Boulevard in the city of North Hollywood.

47-year-old Apollo Rodriguez was at the 6600 block of Lankershim Boulevard when a security guard struck him in the face with a closed fist and caused him to fall to the ground. Mr. Rodriguez stood back up and began to argue with the security guard, and the security guard struck Mr. Rodriguez again, causing him to fall backwards and on to the street. As Mr. Rodriguez was falling backwards he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling north on Lankershim Boulevard. The vehicle continued traveling north bound and failed to stop and render aid.

Mr. Rodriguez suffered critical injuries and despite lifesaving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. Operations Valley Bureau Detectives responded to the scene and arrested the security guard for murder. The hit and run vehicle is described as a black, four door sedan with tinted windows.
