Murderer of 14 Year-Old Bicyclist Captured

Los Angeles: On October 9, 2004, at about 2:10 p.m., Victim Byron Lee was riding his bicycle in the area of McKinley Avenue and 81st Street. The Suspects approached Byron in their vehicle and followed him westbound through the alley west of McKinley Avenue between 81st Street and 82nd Street. The suspects exited their vehicle and approached Byron, who was injured and on the ground, resting on one knee. The suspects briefly spoke with Byron as he was on the ground, and shot him multiple times with handguns. The suspects fled the scene in their vehicle westbound through the alley to Stanford Avenue.
Homicide Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Division launched an investigation that culminated in the arrest of 19 year-old David Michael Porter on the evening of October 21, 2004. An additional suspect has been implicated in the murder of Byron Lee and is currently being sought for questioning. He has been identified as 19 year-old, Fred Douglas Brown, male Black, black hair, brown eyes, 5’ 10", 165 lbs.
