Los Angeles: On Thursday, October 28, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Chief William J. Bratton will introduce the LAPD, State of the Department: A Plan of Action for the Los Angeles That Is and the Los Angeles that Could Be. It describes what the Los Angeles Police Department is doing and planning to do with the resources they have in order to make Los Angeles the safest large city in America.
Immediately following the news conference Chief Bratton will brief his command staff on the Plan of Action which sets clear goals and priorities for creating a police organization that is effective against crime and potential terrorist attack, and that conducts itself lawfully, constitutionally and respectfully at all times.
Members of the media are invited to attend the command staff briefing that is scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Metropolitan Dispatch Center’s Roll Call room located on the 2nd floor.
