Suspect Enters Restaurant Killing Waitress and Customer

Los Angeles: Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the deaths of 24 year-old Manuel DeJesus Rivas Carrillo, and 28 year-old Delmis DelCarmen Rodriguez.
On Saturday, August 9, 2003, at about 4:20 p.m., Rampart Area Officers responded to a radio call at a restaurant located in the 800 block of Alvarado Street. When they arrived, they located two victims with gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Carrillo dead at the scene. Rodriguez was transported to a local hospital were she died as a result of her wounds.
The investigation revealed that four suspects described as male Hispanics in their twenties, entered the restaurant and at least one of the suspects took out a handgun and began shooting. The suspects fled to a waiting vehicle described as a sedan, dark in color.
The motive and the suspects identity are unknown at this time.
