Teacher Arrested for Child Annoying

Los Angeles – On Monday, April 10, 2000 at 10:40 a.m., Mr. David Rodriguez, a 40-year-old Mathematics and English teacher at Virgil Middle School, 152 North Vermont Avenue, was arrested by detectives from Juvenile Division, Sexually Exploited Child Unit. The bail has been set at $10,000.00.

A two and a half month investigation of allegations that involved improper touching of two of Mr. Rodriguez’s students, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office filed four counts of Child Annoying. The students are 11 and 12 years of age.

Following the disclosure of the allegations, Mr. Rodriguez was reassigned to administrative duties.
