News conference for Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives to request the public’s help in locating a person of interest in connection with a homicide

Mariposa is a small street parallel to and east of Normandie Avenue between Romaine and Monroe Streets.

WHY:    
To help detectives solve a vicious murder that occurred on August 28, 2009, at around 8 p.m.  That evening, Paulina Ibarra, a transgender person, was the victim of a homicide in her residence.  Detectives from LAPD’s Rampart Detective Division have received information leading them to believe that a person of interest in this case was present at the crime.  
        
Detectives will be providing more details about the case and asking the public for help to assist them in locating the person of interest and solving the murder.
