Reward Offered for Information on a Murder Investigation

What:
The Los Angeles Police Department will be holding a press conference to announce a $25,000 reward for information regarding a murder investigation.
When:
Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at 1:00 pm
Where:
Wilshire Police Station, 4861 West Venice Boulevard, Los Angeles

Los Angeles: On Monday, April 29, 2002, at approximately 11:10 P.M., Kwame Jenkins, a 22-year old male Black, was shot and killed while standing next to his car which was parked in front of 2338 W. 20th Street, Los Angeles. Mr. Jenkins had aspirations of becoming a teacher in the City of Inglewood, and was scheduled to start an entry-level management position with NorPDTrom’s Department store.
On this date, an unknown suspect(s) approached Jenkins and shot him numerous times for no apparent reason. The suspect(s) then fled the location in an unknown type vehicle. Jenkins does not have any criminal history and the suspect(s) have not been identified. Efforts to locate additional witnesses have been unsuccessful.
Wilshire Area homicide detectives are investigating this murder, and as of yet, have been unable to identify any suspects in this crime.
The family of Mr. Jenkins will be present and available to the media.
