Bicyclist Shot and Left for Dead NR19061jl

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department West Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the identification and arrest of the suspects responsible for fatally shooting 22-year-old Steven Lopez.

On March 18, 2018, around 10:00 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Area patrol officers received a radio call of “Shots Fired” in the 4700 block of West 17th Street. Upon arrival, they observed a female cradling a male (later identified as Steven Lopez) in her arms. Lopez was unconscious and not breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Lopez dead at scene. Preliminary investigation revealed that Lopez was riding his bicycle when two males approached him on foot and fired multiple shots. Lopez collapsed on the sidewalk. The Suspects fled eastbound on foot from the location.

The Los Angeles City Council has approved a reward of $50,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for this crime.
