The Business Intelligence and Managed Reporting Systems Section is responsible for managing Business Intelligence (BI) which encompasses a wide variety of tools, applications and methodologies that enables the Department to collect data from internal systems and external sources, prepare it for analysis, develop and run queries against the data, and create reports, dashboards and data visualizations to make the analytical results. The Section is responsible for:
• Ad Hoc Reporting Warehouse – Oracle
• Cognos Framework Maintenance and Administration
• Cognos Report Development
• Ad Hoc – Crime, Arrest, Citation and CFS Reports
• TEAMS II
• COMPSTAT – ADSD Reports
• OO/RACR Reports
• Open Data
The section also produces, distributes, and posts crime and arrest statistics for internal use, request through the California Public Records Act, Jeanne Cleary Disclosure of Campus Security Policy, and Campus Crime Statistics and government agencies. The Business Intelligence and Managed Reporting Systems Section liaises with Department of Justice regarding Department statistics for eventual reporting to the FBI.
