Victim Fatally Shot in Gas Station

Saturday, April 22, 2000



"Victim Fatally Shot in Gas Station"

Harbor City - On Saturday, April 22, 2000 at approximately 5:35am, the victim drove his vehicle to the Union 76 Gas Station located at 25800 South Normandie Avenue. He parked his vehicle next to the gas pumps on the north side and proceeded to the customer service window. He was approached by an unknown individual armed with a handgun and the victim was shot several times. The suspect ran to and entered the passenger side of a gray vehicle which left the area eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway. The suspect is described only as a "possible male" wearing dark clothes.

Paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. No motive for the shooting has been established.

Harbor area Detectives are conducting the investigation and would like anyone with information to please call 310-548-7447.

The victim has been identified as Francisco Orozco-Villa, a 37 year old male Hispanic.
