"Parked Motorists Fatally Injured In Foothill Area"

Foothill - On Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at 12:00 a.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred on Paxton Street west of Laurel Canyon Boulevard. A white, GMC utility truck was traveling westbound Paxton Street, (at a high rate of speed) when it crossed Laurel Canyon Boulevard. The truck swerved to the right and collided with a parked 4-door, Oldsmobile Intrigue. In the parked vehicle was a lone motorist that was stopped, he was viewing a map. The driver of the parked vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene due to a blunt force trauma type injury sustained due to the traffic collision. The victim has been identified as a male, Caucasian, 37 years old, the name of the victim is being held pending notification to the next of kin.

The driver of the white, GMC utility truck was identified as a male, Caucasian, by the name of Allen Lee Fagerson. He has been booked at the Van Nuys Jail Division for 191.5 PC, Gross Vehicular Manslaughter and was also under the influence of a controlled substance.
