"Accidental Shooting Claims Life of Wife"

Los Angeles--- On April 1, 2000, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Wilshire Division Patrol Officers received a radio call of an "Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Ambulance Shooting" at 4644 West 3rd Street. At the location, Officers discovered the body of a Middle Eastern female who had been shot in the face with a firearm. The husband and daughter of the shooting victim were also present. The victim's husband stated that he was cleaning his gun when it accidentally discharged and shot his wife in the face; his daughter then called the police. The victim's husband was questioned and released.

The names of the victim and family members are not being released pending further investigation.

Wilshire Detectives are conducting the investigation. Any information regarding this incident should be directed to Wilshire Detectives at 213-485-4033.
