"Information Sought On Driver In Hit And Run Fatality"

Los Angeles - On Saturday, August 26, 2000, at approximately 10:55 p.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred on 8th Street east of Vermont Avenue. Mr. Zenon Benitez Lorenzo was laying partially on the northern part of the sidewalk and partially on 8th Street when an unidentified vehicle ran over his upper torso. Mr. Lorenzo sustained extensive blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead by responding paramedics at the scene of the collision. The person driving the vehicle that struck Mr. Lorenzo apparently made no effort to stop and render aid and fled the scene of the accident.

Little information is available regarding the circumstances of the traffic collision, the suspect(s) and/or the hit-and-run vehicle that struck and killed Mr. Lorenzo.
