WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department will graduate 53 police officers, with 46 males and 7 females. The ethnic breakdown of the class is as follows: 11 Caucasians, 31 Hispanics, 6 African American, 1 Chinese, 1 Korean, 1 Cambodian, 1 Middle Eastern, 1 Brazilian. Graduating officers have completed 912 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks. Among the graduates are a Los Angeles Port police officer and an Airport police officer.
