LAPD Women Soccer Players to Compete Against Pico Union Women’s Soccer Team in a Friendly Goodwill Soccer Match

WHAT:
Women’s soccer game: LAPD vs. Pico Union community members

WHEN:
Wednesday. July 27, 2011
7:30 p.m.

Red Shield Salvation Army Field
1532 West 11th Street (11th Street / Union Avenue)
Los Angeles, CA  90015

WHO:
Members of the LAPD Rampart Division’s women’s soccer team
Members of the Red Shield Salvation Army women’s soccer team

WHY:
To build bridges with the community and inspire fellowship among participants through friendly competition.

Captain Gina Sanders of the LAPD’s Rampart Station said “The gals from Pico Union may beat us, but we won’t go down easy.”  The public and members of the media are welcome to attend this historic event.  Future soccer matches are scheduled for September and later this Fall.
