More Info:
Culminating a long career as a creator and teacher of fine art, Los Angeles artist Victor Hugo Zayas has been prolific in producing expressionistic paintings of figures, cityscapes and landscapes, along with various types of sculptures; and the LAPD is very pleased to host one of his most unique and exciting exhibits.  Created from more than two tons of destroyed guns received through the City’s Gun Buyback Program, Zayas has strived to create symbols of peace and beauty from materials once associated with violence and crime.

Zayas will be on-hand to discuss his work and answer questions. Also on display will be actual samples of firearms the City received through the program as well as large, high-resolution photos of some of the firearms used to create his sculptures before they were melted down. The sculptures are expected to be on display daily in the LAPD administration building lobby till at least mid-July.
