Four Children Assaulted

Sunday, December 10, 2000



"Four Children Assaulted"

Los Angeles - On Sunday, December 10, 2000 at approximately 12:50 a.m. in the area of 39th Place and Vermont Avenue, four children between the ages of 9 - 16 years old were assaulted.

The children were reportedly returning from the movies when they were approached by a male, Black, approximately 18 - 22 years of age, 5'8", weighing approximately 160 pounds and armed with a handgun. The suspect forced the victims to a nearby location and sexually assaulted all four at gunpoint. After the assault, the children returned to their grandmother's residence and the police were notified. Paramedics transported the victims to a local hospital were they received medical treatment.

The investigation is being conducted by Robbery Homicide Detective T. Marcia. Anyone who may have been in the above-described location around the time of the incident and has information on this attack is encouraged to contact Detective Marcia at 213-485-2921 on Monday, December 11, 2000. Prior to December 11th, all information should be forwarded to the Los Angeles Police Department Command Post at 213-485-2504.
