Van Nuys: Since October 3, 2001, a male suspect
embarking on a crime spree, has committed a series of armed robberies in
the West Valley and Van Nuys areas of the San Fernando Valley. The suspect
is described as White, 5’10" to 6’0" tall, 160 to 200
pounds, 30 to 40 years old, with blonde or brown hair in a crew cut or
flat top style. The suspect has also been described as having a rough
complexion.
Responsible for 13 robberies, including supermarket
chains in Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills, Northridge and Calabasas, the
suspect has also robbed a hotel, a restaurant and music video stores. The
images caught on videotape are from a robbery that occurred on October 4,
2001. Detectives have determined that his hair could have grown out and he
may now have facial hair. The suspect has also worn different color baseball
hats and sunglasses.
This suspect may be involved in a number of additional
robberies within Los Angeles and should be treated as armed and dangerous.
In the last robberies, the suspect was observed driving a
late model, 1999 or newer silver Dodge or Ford, short bed pick-up truck.
