Eighth Annual A Better Christmas Charity Drive

Eighth Annual "A Better Christmas" Charity Drive

 

Los Angeles: The United States Secret Service, California Highway Patrol and The Los Angeles Police Department’s Metropolitan Division are coming together to bring a holiday cheer to needy residents of the City of Los Angeles.

This event is scheduled for Wednesday December 17, 2003. It is a charity drive to deliver Christmas presents and food to needy parents and children at different locations within the city. This worthwhile event will begin at the Boys and Girls Town at 3741 West 27th Street. From there the motorcade will proceed to the Tenth Street Elementary School at 1000 Grattan Street, and the final stop will be at The Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women at 1650 Rockwood Street.

On December 17, 2003 at 9:45 a.m., a mock motorcade will depart from the United States Secret Service office. The motorcade will consist of LAPD and CHP lead vehicles and two presidential limousines. The first limousine will transport Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. The second limousine will transport other guest’s and VIP’s following the limousines will be numerous vans containing toys and food items that have been donated by Mattel Toys Incorporated and NBC Studios.
