LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, April 11, 2000

"Tenant Awaken by Home Invasion Suspects"

Arleta - On Monday, April 11, 2000, at 12:50 a.m., Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to a radio call of a "Robbery Just Occurred" in the 9100 Block of Woodman Avenue. The victim, a 28 year-old female Hispanic, was awakened by a male Hispanic suspect climbing through her open bedroom window. The suspect pointed an unknown type handgun at the victim, and demanded money from her. A second male Hispanic suspect climbed through the victim's window and joined the first suspect.

The victim complied with the suspects' demands, and directed them to her dresser drawer. The suspects searched the drawer, and removed six hundred dollars in cash and several pieces of jewelry. The suspects then fled from the residence with the victim's property in their possession through the open window.

The victim was not injured. Several of the victim's children were asleep inside the apartment during the robbery and were not hurt.

Devonshire Operations Support Division, Robbery Unit, is conducting the investigation. Please direct all inquiries to the Media Relations Section, at
213-485-3586.
