68-Year-Old Missing Man NR10267rh

On May 19, 2010, the Los Angeles Fire Department rescued Jerald Pfefferman from a ditch located behind his home.  Pfefferman was rushed to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department Missing Person’s Unit and a missing man’s family are asking for the public’s help in locating Jerald Pfefferman.

Yesterday, at around 4 p.m., Pfefferman was last seen walking away from his residence in the 11000 block of Pala Mesa Drive in the Porter Ranch area.

Pfefferman has never been missing before and has not had any contact with his immediate family, which is very unusual.  He may be in need of treatment for a medical condition.

Pfefferman is described as a White male with gray hair and brown eyes.  He stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt, dark- colored pants and beige loafers.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Pfefferman is urged to call LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit Detective Kristin Merrill at 213-996-1800.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.   Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
