Store Manager Shot and Killed in Valley NR11347gb

Los Angeles:  LAPD Devonshire Area Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect who shot and killed a store manager in Northridge.

On Friday, July 22, 2011, at about 4:03 p.m., police officers responded to a call of an “Ambulance Shooting” in the 8900 block of Tampa Avenue.  Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced clinically dead on July 24, 2011.  However, the victim remained on life support until July 26.

The victim was identified as 55-year-old Cristian Manzur.  He was employed at a retail business as a manager. There is no information about the suspect. The weapon has not yet been recovered, and detectives have not determined what prompted the shooting.

Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Devonshire Area Homicide detectives at 818-832-0554 or 818-832-0559.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.   Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
