The Arrest of the 'Butter Fingers Bandit'

" The Arrest of the 'Butter Fingers Bandit' "

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police department has announced the arrest of a suspect that they believe is the notorious bank robber known as the "Butter Fingers Bandit." Three Los Angeles Police Department Devonshire Area patrol officers arrested the suspect, 32 year-old Los Angeles resident Christopher Harris Wright, on February 21, 2002, after a routine traffic stop.

Suspected of numerous bank robberies since November, 2001, Wright was nicknamed the "Butter Fingers Bandit" allegedly due to one of his renowned bungled bank robberies. Hastily exiting a Los Angeles bank with his stolen cash, the robber began dropping large amounts of money to the floor. Witnesses present during the heists reportedly assisted the man by helping him collect the dropped currency, and after scooping up the cash, he fled the scene of the crime. Wright, arrested for Robbery, is being held in lieu of $700,000 bail.

The Los Angeles Police Department and The Federal Bureau of Investigation have been actively investigating and searching for this dangerous suspect and is pleased that there has been a significant development in this case.

Anyone with further information should contact The Los Angeles Police Department, Robbery Homicide Division, at 213-485-2511. On weekends and during off hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAWFULL, 1-877-529-3855.
